Skylight Hotel, Addis Ababa

The International Leadership Foundation (ILF) Ethiopia successfully convened the second phase of the Transforming Leadership and Governance Seminar (TLGS II) from 27–28 December 2025 at the Skylight Hotel in Addis Ababa. The two-day seminar brought together 80 participants, predominantly Members of Parliament, alongside senior government officials.

The seminar was designed to strengthen leadership capacity, enhance strategic thinking, and promote ethical decision-making among parliamentarians and high-level public leaders. It also provided a platform for peer learning, dialogue, and collaboration on pressing leadership and governance challenges facing the nation.

Sessions were highly interactive, combining expert-led presentations with facilitated discussions that encouraged participants to reflect critically on real-world leadership issues related to governance, public service, and nation-building. Participants actively engaged throughout the programme, demonstrating strong commitment and enthusiasm to apply the insights gained to their professional responsibilities.

The seminar was led by Prof. Delanyo Adadevoh, President and Founder of the International Leadership Foundation. He was supported by a distinguished team of ILF facilitators, including Mr Stephen Adu-Amoani, Executive Director for Africa and the Caribbean; Prof. Mike Wicker, Director of Education and Communications; and Dr Victor Koh, Senior Leadership Consultant. Additional contributions were made by Dr Laura Mautsa, Africa Director of the Young Leaders League, and Dr Girma Altaye, President of GCM-Ethiopia, whose expertise and practical perspectives further enriched the learning experience.

Overall, the seminar was successfully delivered and warmly received by participants. TLGS II reaffirmed ILF Ethiopia’s ongoing commitment to leadership development, ethical governance, and institutional capacity strengthening in Ethiopia.

Participant Testimonials

Testimonial 1 “This training on Transformational Leadership has been a profound catalyst for my work in the Ethiopian Parliament. By focusing on the ’12 Cs’ of leadership, I have been able to identify the urgent priorities our nation needs to bring about lasting change.” — Negere Lencho, Member of Parliament Former information Minster in the federal government.

Testimony 2: “The greatest takeaway has been that true leadership is rooted in character and integrity. Without strong moral principles, a leader lacks the ‘inner power’ to inspire others or build the collaboration necessary for national success. I am now better equipped to move beyond individual effort and focus on building the teams and partnerships required to see Ethiopia thrive.”—Ambassador Teferi Melese, Parliamentary Representative and Former Ambassador of Britain

Testimonial 3: “Through the ‘12 Cs’ framework, I discovered that true leadership isn’t about a title—it is about the ‘inner power’ of a good heart and strong character. I am now more committed than ever to serving the people of Ethiopia with a mature sense of responsibility and a dedicated spirit.”—Dr. Alemu Gonfa, Member of Parliament

Testimonial 4: “This training has completely redefined my understanding of leadership. I’ve realized that being a leader is a profound responsibility that begins within; you must first lead yourself with a good heart and strong character before you can hope to lead others. — Zemu Tesfa, Member of Parliament
